Ausbildung
Ausbildung
The German term "ausbildung" refers to what is commonly known as an apprenticeship in English. This program involves attending classes at an institute as well as working and receiving training at a German company. It typically takes three years to complete.
The Expenses for Ausbildung
The most attractive aspect of the ausbildung programs in Germany is that they don’t incur any tuition fees. Instead, they provide monthly stipends to the participants. This stipend can be enough to meet the living expenses in Germany. Hence, no additional proof of financing is required from students joining for ausbildung.
German Language Requirements
You will need to be fluent in German language to attend an ausbildung course.
Proficiency in the German language is a crucial requirement for enrolling in a vocational training program. Applicants must have a B2 level of German language skills, as the communication at work and the training place will be mostly in German.
If you are fluent enough in the language, you can attend the program with even a B1 level of proficiency, because the requirement is that one must have enough communication skills to follow the programme.
Academic Requirements for Ausbildung
Youngsters who have just completed plus two are eligible for ausbildung programs.
Indian students who have successfully completed their 12th-grade are eligible to apply for ausbildung programs. Those who have completed additional studies, such as a diploma or a bachelor’s degree, after their plus-two are also eligible to apply. While there is no official maximum age limit for enrolling, institutions usually prefer students under 30 years of age.
Documents to Apply for Ausbildung
To apply, students must have a well-written CV, a statement of purpose, work experience letters (if available), and educational certificates. As part of the admission process, employers will usually conduct interviews with the applicants to ascertain their German language skills among many other things.

Visa Processing
Upon successful admission, students will be issued an offer letter from their German employer. Once the offer letter is received, students need to take up the visa processing and application. To apply for a visa for ausbildung, applicants need a contract letter from their employer, proof of sufficient means to cover their living expenses and health insurance.
